Aradhana Verma

Harshad Oberoi. Second heir of Oberoi family. Twenty nine years old. Single. Workaholic..

Known as the coldest man among the whole lot!

I have been going through his photos on google. I started following him on social media pages. But he doesn't seem to have many updates on his social media pages. Guess, he has no time for social media. So it's better to google his photos.

And now I am admiring all his photos in google. Okay, I am literally stalking the man!

"What are u looking at?" I jumped in shock at the sudden interruption and saw my best friend looking suspiciously at me.

And here comes my best friend in the whole world, Ishaan Mehta. The next CEO of Mehta Industries. The elder son of Rakesh Mehta and Nandini Mehta. Well we are diaper buddies. Papa and Rakesh uncle were friends since their college days, and the friendship passed on to the next generation, that is us. Hopefully, we will be able to pass on our friendship to our kids too. We went to school together. We went to college together. Our friends and family thought we would end up together. But we both just laughed it off. We would be best friends forever.

"You scared me, idiot." I said and hid my phone.

"Were you watching p*rn?" He asked and I looked at him in disbelief....

"Why would I do that, you stupid" I hissed at him.

"Then why are you hiding your phone from me?" He asked suspiciously.

"Why are you here?" I asked, him not bothering to answer him...

"For entertainment," he smiled cheekily and I rolled my eyes.

“What am I? Your personal entertainer?” I asked sarcastically.

“Of course, there is no greater entertainment than being with you.” Ishaan said and I shot a stink eye at him.

"Well, right now I have no time to entertain you, Mr Mehta. You better find a different source for that. I have some work," I said and he frowned in confusion.

"Let’s hangout somewhere. We can go to that new club." He said ..

"No Ishu. I have some work today." I said.

"Since when did you start picking work over me?" He asked dramatically.

Since I met Harshad, I wanted to tell him. But I didn't. I will tell him soon anyways, or else he will find it out somehow. And then I will never hear the end of this.

"Aaru, are you ready? Oh hey Ishu, when did you come?" Papa asked, coming to my room.

“Just now, uncle. Why are you forcing her to come to the office, uncle? You and papa granted us a one month break, did you forget?” Ishaan complained.

“I am not forcing her, Ishu. She is coming on her own.” Papa said, shooting a suspicious look at me.

"I am ready. Let’s go," I took my clutch and started walking towards the door...

Ishu started whining like a child. He is quite dramatic at times. Of course he would be. After all, he is my bestieee.

"Let’s go out and chill tomorrow, Ishu." I told him and he agreed with a huff of annoyance.

We are now in our car heading to Oberoi Hotels.

"Papa, where is my watch?" I asked.

"It will reach tomorrow, baby." Papa said and I gave him a quick kiss on his cheeks.

"What will we do after signing this contract, papa?" I asked him, expecting more opportunities to work with Harshad...

"After signing the contract we will look after our company," he said...

"So no more working with them?" I asked him and he chuckled...

"Why, what happened? Why are you all of a sudden enthusiastic about working?" He asked, amused...

"This is an important business, right?” I said in an offhand manner.

"It is. We won’t be working with them. We will work in our company and they will be in their company. Both of us will be doing our parts of the deal." He said and I sighed in disappointment.

"What is going on in that pretty little head of yours?" He asked, shooting a suspicious look my way.

"Papa, I have a wish. I mean it's my last wish, okay.” I said with a pleading face and he looked at me in horror.

“Last wish?”

“I mean, after this I won't ask you for anything. Not even watches and handbags." I said and he frowned, his confusion doubling.

"What is it, Aaru, that you want so badly that you are willing to give up new watches and handbags?" He asked with a chuckle.

"I want to marry Harshad Oberoi, Papa." I said and he stepped onto the brake and the car stopped abruptly in the middle of the road. Luckily there were not many vehicles on the road so we escaped from an accident.

“What?” He asked, looking at me in shock.

“I want to marry Harshad Oberoi.” I repeated.

"Why do you want to marry him?" Papa asked calmly, starting the car again...

"Because I like him," I said in a 'duh' tone.

What kind of a question is that....huh!!!

"Are you okay, baby. Do you have a fever or something? Did you fall down somewhere?" Papa asked, touching my forehead checking my temperature and I rolled my eyes...

"I am absolutely fine papa and I am talking with hundred percent clarity." I said

"But, you have only met him once. You hardly know him, baby. He is a handsome man, I agree. It is quite natural to get infatuated at your age. There is no reason for you to get married over a silly crush. It is your age to have numerous crushes." He said. He doesn’t understand how serious I am.

"Papa, I like him, that's it.." I said adamantly.

"No baby. I can't grant your wish. He is a very cold hearted man. You won’t be happy with him. And it is a well known news that he has no plans of settling down ever. You will get heartbroken if you let your crush grow into anything more.” Papa said and I sulked hearing that.

"I don't want to know any of these, Papa. I want him. What Aradhana wants, Aradhana always gets that..." I said in an annoyed tone.

“Don’t be stubborn, Aaru. I will get you anything you want, but not this.” Papa said, shaking his head in disapproval....

We arrived at Oberoi Industries, and my heart raced with excitement. I was about to meet Harshad. The thought alone had me grinning like a fool. Papa gave me a disapproving look, but I pretended not to notice.

As we waited in the conference room, the door suddenly opened, revealing Preeti Oberoi.

"Good morning, Mr. Verma. Hi, Aradhana," she greeted warmly, flashing a kind smile.

"Good morning, Mrs. Saxena," Papa replied politely.

"Oh, please, call me Preeti," she insisted with a cheerful laugh.

"In that case, you should call me Harsh uncle," Papa said, smiling back.

"Sure, uncle," she agreed easily, her friendliness evident.

"Where is Harshad?" I asked, without thinking twice.

The room fell quiet for a beat. Preeti blinked in surprise, clearly not expecting the direct question, but then a wide smile lit up her face.

"Harshad bhai? My brother?" She asked, her eyes sparkling with curiosity. I nodded without hesitation.

Papa discreetly nudged me with a warning pinch, silently telling me to behave. I pouted but stayed quiet, for now.

"They’ll be here soon," Preeti explained, still amused. "I just came to hand over the contract for you to review before they arrive."

As she spoke, the door opened again, and one by one, they walked in. First came Vansh, who greeted Preeti with a warm hug, followed by Parag and Mihir. And then, finally, him.

Harshad Oberoi! My prince charming!

The moment our eyes met, I offered him a bright smile, my heart skipping a beat. But instead of returning it, he simply looked away. Seriously? A small smile wouldn’t kill him, would it? I huffed quietly, a mix of frustration and determination bubbling up inside me.

You can look away now, Harshad, but just wait and watch. I’ll make you fall in love with me.
