Zada walked out of library in search of a quieter place where she could continue working on her book
Her usual spot in the library was occupied by a couple who were too busy making out, that they didn't even notice her walking in on them
She was passing through the corridor when she spotted the indoor games room.
It seemed pretty empty.
Ofcourse, all the sports freaks would be in the cafeteria watching the IPL.
She walked into the empty dark room.
The only lights in the room were the overhead lamps on the tennis table and billiards table.
She dropped her bags near a love seat and walked around the room inspecting everything with fascination.
She had never been interested in sports unlike her brothers, who were both sports freaks.
Zahir would tease her saying it's because she doesn't like doing anything that requires moving her lazy butt.
But that's not true.
She loves to work out ,not regularly though. But she has never been interested in sports and games.
She used to give company for her brothers and Uncle Basim in the gym sometimes and she always enjoyed doing it. Not any heavy moves though.
Working out alone hadn't been appealing to her either.
She stopped near the billiard table.
This is the game all those rich old men in Bollywood and Hollywood movies love to play. She has always seen rich old men in movies, wearing suits and having a glass of liquor in hand, standing around the billiard table, conspiring criminal activities.
She is from a rich royal family, but she had never seen her parents or grandparents playing this.
They might do, while going to a club or something.
She took the cue stick in her hand and positioned it as she saw in movies and tried to strike it on the balls placed in a triangle in the centre of the table.
Great!!
The stick didn't even touch a single ball.
Wow!! Zada. You are an amazing sportswoman, she thought with a scoff.
"Tsk tsk" she heard someone clicking their tongue and turned around to see Liam Fredrick standing behind her
"I was wondering why you didn't grace me with your presence yet, Fredrick," Zada said, rolling her eyes, though her heart rate picked up at the mere sight of him. She had actually been anticipating his arrival since morning and much to her disappointment she didn’t see him anywhere.
"Aww. You missed me?? I feel honoured babe," he said smirking, earning another eye roll from her, though her heart fluttered hearing the silly endearment babe.
Liam had excused himself from the cafe after the match and was going through the corridor when he saw Mirrie entering the library.
He had decided to stay away from her for a while to come to terms with his new feelings
But a single glimpse of her, he was already walking towards her, all other thoughts evaporated from his head.
As he reached near the library, he saw her coming out of there in a hurry, her face all red and walking ahead and ended up in the indoor games room. He kind of figured what she must have seen in the library to have turned cherry red. Many couples use library as their make out spot
"So?? You play billiards??" He asked, raising an eyebrow in a conversational way.
"Uh.. Does it look like I am a pro player, Fredrick??" Zada asked sarcastically, making him chuckle.
"No. I think you need training. Maybe I can teach you to play" he said with a mischievous smirk.
Zada thought for a moment and shrugged.
What is she going to lose anyway?
It might even be fun.
After setting up the balls in a neat triangle and placing the cue ball on the white starting point, she breathes out as she stands at the head of the table, cue stick in her hand.
"So?? Do I bend over?? Are you going to get behind my back??" Zada asked casually.
Liam pauses and stares at her for a moment with quirked eyebrows
"Come again darling??" Liam prompted with a sexy smirk.
"Do I bend... " she trailed off as her cheeks turned a pretty shade of pink.
OMG!! Did she just accidentally make a sexual innuendo to Liam Fredrick, the biggest flirt known to mankind. Okay, maybe not as big as her elder brother, Zahir. But close enough though.
Liam had his fist to his mouth and it's obvious that he is holding back his laugh that glimmers in his eyes.
"Don't you dare open your mouth Fredrick" she warned him furiously.
"You can bend over and I will get behind you, but that's all up to you Mirrie" he said with a cheeky grin.
"Shut up" She snapped at him.
"Heyy!! I am talking about the game. What you do is look for the angle. In case of breaking the colored balls, you aim just aim... " he trails off and folds his arms across his chest and smiled.
A smile. Not a smirk. Why is he smiling all of a sudden?
"What??" She asked warily.
"The balls are shaped in a triangle with the top pointed at us. So where should you aim to break it??" He asked softly.
She aims straight ahead at the triangle of balls and pull back the stick slightly before pushing forward only to run the cue stick into the green felt of the table.
"Oh no" Zada moaned, as she missed it again.
"Oops. Don't worry. Your aim was right. Your grip on the stick wasn't stable. Let me show you," he said and with that he stood behind her placing his hands over hers on the cue stick through either side of her.
It feels as if he is back hugging her. Zada felt goosebumps all over her body.
"Hold straight. You should balance it properly like this," he said near her ears.
